COMO AND THE EUROPEAN MUSEUMS’ NIGHT

On Saturday May 16th the Museums of Como will have an extraordinary night opening from 9.00pm till midnight, free entry, in occasion of the XI edition of the “EUROPEAN MUSEUMS’NIGHT”

A great event to promove Como’s cultural life.

The programm of the Museums’ Night involves the main ones in town such as the Museo Archeologico– Archeological Museum-, Museo Storico– History Museum- with special guided visits linked to the topic of the food and of the diet habits in Como area from the most ancient to the modern ages, interesting workshops fro children as well will be available.

At the Palazzo Volpi Picture Gallery you will discover “ The food in painting” a visit dedicated to the more “Still Lifes” of the rich paintings’ collection, but not only this, you will also be able to visit the exhibit of Francesco Capiaghi, important artist of the XIX century, guided by the curator Mari Angela Previtera; through Capiaghi’s artworks you will admire suggestive views of the town, of the Lake and Brianza during the past centuries.

Instead visiting the Tempio Voltiano you will enter in a deep contact with Alessandro Volta’s scientific world and his battery that he invented in 1799 giving birth to the modern age.
